“I’ll Change For You” official visualizer

I’ll Change For You builds directly from the visual world Mitski and Lexie (photographer/videographer) established during the album shoot, using existing footage as both source material and subject. Rather than introducing a new narrative, the piece stays fully contained within the Tansy House universe — expanding its mythology through transformation and decay.
To create the visualizer, footage was printed frame-by-frame onto transparency film and then re-captured. This analog process introduced natural imperfections (misregistration, ink bleed, and physical distortion) allowing the images to degrade through repetition and handling. The manipulation mirrors the instability of memory: how images shift, erode, and reshape each time they are revisited.
Hand-drawn marks and evolving elements were added across frames as a literal and symbolic gesture of self-alteration. Faces subtly change and fracture over time, creating a growing sense of instability and disorientation. The process embraces failure and imperfection, emphasizing the emotional weight of trying to preserve something that cannot remain fixed.
The final video is intended to feel like an artifact discovered within Tansy House itself — worn, fragile, and slightly deteriorated, as though hidden away and slowly altered by time.
